The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2018 placed UMSA as the best university of Bolivia and among the Top 100 in Latin America.

The Electronics Engineering (EE) department is going after its accreditation

Next year, the EE department is going to face the accreditation process carried out by ARCU-SUR. This accreditation provides mutual recognition of degree programs that are accredited by local organizations.

New facilities for our researchers

The Institute of Applied Electronics is inaugurating new facilities which will be destined to conduct research on the main concentrations of the EE department: controls, telecommunications and computer science.

New equipment for PCB prototyping has arrived

New facilities requieres new equipment. Therefore, we have acquired a Cirqoid machine and a QS-5100 reflow oven.

Two of our projects participated in the last science fair organized by the engineering faculty

The myoelectric prosthesis hand is a project carried out by a couple of undergraduate students who aimed at controlling the fingers movement using myoelectric signals.

The nanosatellite project is an ambitious endeavour for developing and launching the first nanosatellite designed completely in our country.
